Pop Web site in new window   BUG: Hostels
There aren't a whole lot of hostels listed in the Backpacker's Ultimate Guide to Hostels, but we were impressed with the thoroughness of listings: contact info, web address, how to get there, and assessments of the location, hostel atmosphere, and security. Also lists hours, curfew, and cost.

Pop Web site in new window   Eurotrip European Hostels
If you're hostelling in Hungary (or the rest of Europe), here's a great resource. Hostels are arranged according to country and include links, e-mail, address and phone, and reader comments. Check the Hostel FAQ and learn about Youth Hostel Membership Cards and the new Independent Hostels of Europe card.

Pop Web site in new window   The Backpacker.net Hostel Index
It's a hostel world out there: ease your quest for accommodations with this extensive guide. Listings include the basics--web site, e-mail, address, phone, fax, price--and info on the extras--curfew and amenities. Post comments on your favorite (or least favorite) hostel or read others' rants and raves.

Pop Web site in new window   Hostels.com
It's too bad that the "most complete directory of hostels in the world" only lists address, phone number, and price for them (a few listings include links). But the sheer number is impressive. You can also learn about hostelling here, join a forum, and read about budget travel.

Pop Web site in new window   Europe's Famous 5 Hostels
Visit Europe's best hostels! Only 10 hostels are listed on this site, with it's nifty interactive map. But apparently, they're the best ones. Read descriptions, check out photos, get contact info, and e-mail inquiries to the hostel staff.

Pop Web site in new window   Youth Hostels Worldwide
Do your own hostel research: here's a simple list of links to youth hostels in Europe. Some links go to the site for the country's youth hostel organization, and others go to individual hostels.
