Map History
London's Institute of Historical Research serves up a map history section that is a bit dry, shall we say. But what the site lacks in style it makes up for in depth, featuring dozens of carefully chosen links. In addition to research and history resources (who invented the globe, perhaps?), find out where the merry map makers will be having their next conference.

Oddens's Bookmarks on Maps and Mapping
Roelof P. Oddens of the Netherlands' Utrecht University is the Oddens in question here, and he's compiled an incredible resource of map links (6,700 and counting). The layout doesn't lend itself to quick browsing, but for links on map topics ranging from "Cartographic Curiosities" to electronic atlases, Odden is your man. His collection of search engine links is particularly well organized.
