At this USGS site, find reliable topographical maps for camping, hiking, and other outdoor use. You can't find the actual maps online, but this site offers an index of all maps and the address a nearby dealer (or online ordering info). Plus, link to other national maps and map resources.

US Census Bureau: Maps
The US Census Bureau offers a great resource for locating maps in the USA--if you know the county you're looking for. Click a state and pick a county and, for most locations, you get a "Tiger Map" of the area. This handy mapping system allows you to decide what to display (city labels, highways, parks, etc.).
