Costa Rica: Arts and Culture
These essays, part of the excellent Moon Publications Travel Series, are a great dose of brain food. Light on interesting graphics but loaded with insightful info on topics such as art, music, theater and dancing. No outstanding links, but some topics have a few listings for local cultural groups and institutions.

Extensive Moon Publications article covers the history of the country dating back to the 16th century and presents a comprehensive dateline to 1990. If you love to know all about a place before you go, this is highly recommended.
