Pop Web site in new window   Five Borough Bicycle Club
We like the simplicity and friendliness of this site. It lists day and weekend rides that are free and open to members and non-members of the Five Borough Bicycle Club (covering Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island). Also, a brief description of each ride and meeting spots.

Pop Web site in new window   New York Mountain Bike Trails
Looking to bike in Bear Swamp or Cathedral Pines? This site offers information on many good mountain biking trails within the Greater New York Area. You'll get a description of the trail, location, distance, type of trail, elevation, and skill level needed to attempt the bike -- plus, weather information. We found the user review extremely helpful.

Pop Web site in new window   Kissena Cycling Club
Serious cyclists, check out this club, which boasts as members Olympic medallists and national champions. The club offers members' info about organized races, newsletter, discounts, coaching and more.

Pop Web site in new window   Travel with Bicycles: Air, Rail and Other
Here is a great resource, whether you are traveling by plane or train or shipping your bike off by FedEx. There is also a directory of places where you can rent bikes throughout the U.S., Europe and the world.

Pop Web site in new window   Bikes-on-Transit: New York City
A great resource for riders who take their bikes with them on public transportation. There is a less-than satisfactory map of bike-friendly routes on the site, but we found the written descriptions further down the page to be of greater value.

Pop Web site in new window   Staten Island Bicyling Association
The Staten Island Bicycling Association hosts rides on and off Staten Island. If you want to join them on a particular ride, we suggest you call the ride leader a day or two in advance for more information.
